Rest In Peace, my friend
Kevin and I went to grade school together, playing football and winning a KCYO Championship. At Roosevelt we remained friends through singing in the '69 Choir and the Choralaires. He was a great guy, always friendly and supportive. His passing, to me, is one of great sadness. Kevin Reilly
What I most recall about Kevin, was that he ALWAYS seemed to have a smile on his face, and was also a sharp dresser. He just had a jovial personality and truly seemed to enjoy the moment. The day after graduation, when we were all pretty hung over, I recall doing a break job on his '64 Tempest on his parents driveway with Kevin Shannon. The drums were shot, but we just re shoed it. I remember the star adjusters were frozen and we finally freed them. He was thrilled to be able to stop again. A great guy, and even though I hadn't seen him in years, I hold him in fond memory. Rest Peacfully Kev.
I met Kevin at Roosevelt, we had quite alot in common and became friends quickly - surprise, suprise, Kevin extended his hand in friendship to everyone he met. He was really an outstanding human being! I only saw him mad once and he was faking it. I think he thought he really was mad but, he couldn't sell it and we all laughed with him. Kevin started dating Nancy Bittner after high school and I met her then. Nancy was fun, talkative, sarcastic in an endearing way, athletic and enjoyable to be around. Kevin and Nancy set Cindy and I up for a date when we were about 19, I had never known Cindy except that she was in my english class in 10th grade - I did notice her. We have our 40th anniversary later this year thanks to that date - Thank you Nancy and Kevin!
We were together often, a big part of each others lives, before Kevin and Nancy moved to Omaha with Ma Bell. We did a couple of long weekend trips to their house and I stayed with them a couple of times on the way home from solo portions of ski trips. I was reminded then that those connections never really go away, it was always picking up where we left off.
Cindy and I were surprised and saddened by the early loss of Kevin and then Nancy soon after, It left a big hole in our hearts. They are greatly missed and we reminisce often.
Kevin and Nancy had three children, Jamie, Brian and Zack, who are doing well.
Kevin and Nancy, Nancy and Kevin, Rest in Peace
